The battle for California’s House District 45 is heating up between Steel and Tran

The battle between Michelle Steel and Derek Train for California’s 45th Congressional District is heating up in the days before the upcoming elections.

Louise Larsen is one of many campaign volunteers knocking on doors and leaving door hangers in a last-minute effort to increase turnout. That’s what many campaign volunteers in Southern California did the weekend before Election Day.

Larsen surveys neighborhoods looking for Democrat Derek Tran, who told FOX 11, “I’m ready to win this.” But it’s not over yet. Both Democrat Derek Tran and Republican Michelle Steel have little time left to convince undecided voters to join them.

Steel’s campaign themes include cracking down on crime, stopping inflation, cutting taxes and securing the border. Tran says, “Look, the momentum is on our side.” On the Sunday before Election Day, Tran brought out the big guns: the governor, the congressman running for senator, and the attorney general.

Trans’s issues include women’s right to choose, stopping price gouging and lowering healthcare costs. In addition, Tran brings attention to a National Public Radio report alleging that Michelle Steel misused COVID funds in 2020 while she was a supervisor in Orange County. He reiterated their claim, saying, “Michelle Steel funneled $1.2 million intended to feed needy seniors to her political mail handler during the campaign.”

In a one-on-one interview, Tran said, “It’s not good, and people are ready for change.” When asked if he wanted an investigation, he replied: “Absolutely.”

FOX 11 reached out to Michelle Steel’s campaign and offered them a chance to discuss their latest argument. When they explained that we wanted to know Steel’s response to the NPR report, they canceled the interview, and campaign spokesman Lance Trover issued a statement saying, “Derek Tran is a liar and a sloppy trial lawyer who enriched himself by playing for sexual predators.” work and file frivolous cases.” So it’s no surprise that in a pathetic last-minute ploy, he lies about Michelle’s program that provided 50,000 meals to seniors in Orange County and supported restaurants during COVID.

To Governor Gavin Newsom, this race in the 45th District is the one he is most interested in, adding: “But my real reason for being here is to, more importantly, thank you for the work you are doing over the next you will do for 48 years.”

And no doubt these final hours are crucial for Derek Tran, Michelle Steele or anyone else running for office.
