Investigation into the attack on Tsakane Police Station

The incident was caught on camera and has since gone viral on social media.

Both the sergeant and the civilian have opened cases of assault and crime against each other.

Gauteng police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said an internal disciplinary case would also be opened against the officer.

“The management of SAPS in Gauteng has noted with disappointment the video circulating on social media showing a uniformed policewoman punching a member of the public at Tsakane Police Station.

“This behavior is inappropriate and the SAPS Code of Conduct advocates that customers are treated with respect and integrity at all times.”

No arrests have been made.
