James Van Der Beek’s wife, Kimberly, shares a sweet message after his cancer was revealed

Kimberly Van Der Beek sits in her husband’s corner.

The wife of James Van Der Beek left a sweet comment on the actor’s Instagram post during the weekend revealing his colorectal cancer diagnosis.

“I love you baby,” the 42-year-old said.

Hours before the 47-year-old “Dawson’s Creek” alum made his health update public, Kimberly tagged him in an Instagram Story upload about northern cardinals.

The image called the birds “romantic” and explained that they “mate for life, traveling together, singing before nesting and feeding each other from beak to beak during courtship.”

Alongside the post, Kimberly wrote: “Hi baby @vanderjames.”

She and the “Varsity Blues” star have been married since August 2010 and share six children: Olivia, 14, Joshua, 12, Annabel, 10, Emilia, 8, Gwendolyn, 6, and Jeremiah, 2.

James included photos of the little ones in his shocking announcement on Sunday, which he had previously attended “deal privately.”

He wrote: ‘I’m in a good place and feeling strong. It was quite an initiation, and I will tell you more when I am ready.”

James noted that he “received treatment and fine-tuned (his) overall health with more focus than ever before.”

He concluded, “We roll with it, treating each surprise as a signpost, pointing us toward a greater destiny than we would have discovered without divine intervention. Please know that my family and I truly appreciate all the love and support.”

The ‘Dancing With the Stars’ alum lives in Texas with his family, where they moved from Los Angeles in 2020.

At that time James provided his followers with a list of reasons why they “landed” in the state — including that his children couldn’t fly a kite in the park near their Beverly Hills home.

“Sometimes a fuller life starts with an empty house,” he says wrote via Instagram before heading to their new premises.

“I leave Los Angeles incredibly grateful for all the friends and memories we made here,” James said. “On to the next big adventure! ”
