Keanu Reeves pushed herself to the point of illness to perform intense stunts John Wick.

At a special screening celebrating the action film’s 10th anniversary, held on November 3 at the AMC Century City in Los Angeles, Reeves, 60, and his co-star Ian McShane82, sat for a panel discussion with co-director Chad Stahelski and producer Erica Lee.

Moderator Grae Drake asked Reeves how far he was pushed to play the titular hitman who takes revenge on the Russian gangsters responsible for the death of his dog.

Reeves said the experience was a “gift,” adding, “I’ve had so many great teachers and guidance and worked with so many talented actors, actresses and stunt people in the sense that it’s such a dance and collaboration and collaboration . So there are a few times where you throw up or puke or whatever, but that makes up for it!

McShane also praised Reeves’ willingness to go the extra mile.

“He pushes the envelope all the time. So when your leads say, “We want to do another one,” and it’s raining outside for the seventh day in a row… and you’re standing there, whatever. And you say, ‘Well, Keanu does it. Here we are. Here we go,” McShane said.

The film was a hit and spawned three sequels, which have collectively earned more than $1 billion worldwide. The films have also become famous for their violent and involving fight scenes, including one in which Keanu’s Wick shoves a sharp pencil into an enemy’s eye and ear.

When moderator Drake joked that “no one has ever looked at a pencil the same way again,” Reeves responded, “You shouldn’t. Because they work!”

In an interview with Business insider October 31 Desperate housewives alum Eva Longoriaconfirmed that she intervened and helped save the film with a $6 million investment after financing fell through just as filming was set to begin.

“An agent, and he wasn’t even my agent, he called me and said, ‘You have money, you need to put your money here.’ And I didn’t even know how a movie was made. I was like, “What do you mean by gap financing?” she said.

Longoria said she has since more than doubled her original investment – ​​and is angry with herself for not staying involved in the sequels.

“What I’m pissed about is that I wasn’t connected to the rest of them. This was a one-off. That was the gamble. But that was my only mistake, that I was not attached to all the films,” she said.
