A Minden man is killed in a crash on Eastlake Blvd

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – An October crash on Eastlake Blvd left a Minden man dead.

On October 24 around 11:30 a.m., Nevada State Police troopers responded to IR580 and Eastlake for reports of a crash.

An initial investigation revealed that a 2007 GMC Yukon was traveling south on IR580 when the driver left the roadway for unknown reasons and entered the paved right shoulder. As the GMC continued south, the right side of the GMC struck the concrete barrier on the right side several times.

Ultimately, the GMC came to rest in contact with the concrete barrier on the right shoulder, approximately 4,500 feet south of where it initially struck the barrier.

The driver, 66-year-old Patrick Peterson of Minden, was pronounced dead.
