1 injured and 1 charged during fight at Greenbrier Middle School

EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A student is facing charges after being involved in a fight at Greenbrier Middle School, the Columbia County School District said Monday.

Parents were informed in a letter from principal Toni Cliatt of the argument that took place in a physical education class on Monday afternoon.

One student suffered injuries and one student will be criminally prosecuted and held accountable under the student code of conduct.

“The safety of students and staff is the highest priority and while this was not a true emergency, the incident occurred in the presence of other students and we felt it was important to notify our parents,” the district said. “Please note: inappropriate physical contact is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.”
