Former Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Arrested for Theft

PARAGOULD, Ark. (KAIT) – Arkansas State Police have arrested a former Greene County sheriff’s deputy for theft of property.

On Monday, November 4, special agents from ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division arrested 56-year-old James Huffstetler.

According to a press release, in August 2024, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the Greene County Prosecutor requested ASP to investigate suspected theft within the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

During the investigation, officers were able to recover GCSO property from Huffstetler.

The news release stated that Huffstetler was arrested at his home in Paragould and taken to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
