Police officer in court in Aberdeen accused of raping a woman

A police officer has appeared in court in Aberdeen charged with rape.

Gary Forbes, 30, allegedly raped a 34-year-old woman in the city in August.

Forbes appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Friday.

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) said he had not entered a plea and was released on bail.

Police Scotland confirmed in a statement: “A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault on a 34-year-old woman at a property in Aberdeen on Friday, August 23.

“He appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Friday, November 1.”
