Date set for trial of man accused of Norwich murder

A date has been set for the trial of a man accused of murder following a fatal stabbing.

Elvis Vickers, 46, of Mousehold Street, Norwich, appeared via video link at the city’s Crown Court on Tuesday.

He has been charged with the murder of 48-year-old Abdulkadar Chadli, who was found fatally injured in Mousehold Street at around 10:15pm GMT on Friday, November 1.

Mr Vickers – who spoke only to confirm his name – was told he would stand trial in March 2025. He was taken into custody.

Mr Chadli was pronounced dead at the scene. An initial post-mortem examination revealed that his death was consistent with a stab wound to the chest.

A 37-year-old man arrested in connection with the stabbing has been released on bail pending further investigations.
