Lightning’s Brayden Point will miss the Nov. 5 game against the Blues

Point scored eight goals and five assists, good for thirteen points in twelve games. Prior to his injury, and unless it keeps him out of the lineup for an extended period of time, Point is on pace for 88 points in a full season. This is comparable to his past two seasons, in which he scored 95 and 90 points.

Point was a third-round pick for the Lightning in the 2014 NHL Draft out of the WHL, and after two more productive seasons with the Moose Jaw Warriors and a brief stint in the AHL in 2014-15 with the Syracuse Crunch, he made his NHL debut in the 2016-2017 season. He is currently in his ninth season with the Bolts and won two Stanley Cups with the team in 2020 and 2021.

Point is currently in the third year of an eight-year, $9.5 million cap hit.

Tampa is currently second in the Atlantic Division with a 7-5-0 record and 14 points. The Bolts play the Blues on Tuesday and prepare for action against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday before having a week off before their next game on Nov. 14 against the Winnipeg Jets.
