BSP announces top campaigners for by-elections in Uttar Pradesh

As Uttar Pradesh gears up for by-elections to nine Assembly seats, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has released a list of 40 top campaigners, including BSP supremo Mayawati and senior leader Satish Chandra Mishra. These leaders will work tirelessly to ensure victories for the party in the upcoming elections, the party said in a statement issued here.

The by-elections are scheduled for seats in Ghaziabad, Meerpur, Kundarki, Khair, Karhal, Sisamau, Phulpur, Katehari and Majhawan. Originally scheduled for November 13, the election commission postponed the voting date by a week and moved it to November 20.

Ahead of the by-elections, Mayawati has been vocal in her criticism of the opposition, particularly targeting the BJP and Congress.

Targeting both parties, she said that while millions are struggling with inflation and unemployment, the BJP and Congress are more focused on attacking each other in their campaigns for the Maharashtra and Jharkhand elections and promising ‘freebies’.

She accused both parties of engaging in “negative politics,” claiming they prioritize false promises over real public issues. In a recent post on She added that leaders often forget these promises once in power.
