Elderly man killed over land dispute in Natore

A 70-year-old man was allegedly killed by his cousins ​​today (November 6) over a disputed land in Singra upazila of Natore.

The deceased was Arshab Ali, a resident of Choupukudia village under the upazila.

Singra police station officer-in-charge Asmaul Haque said legal action will be taken.

Locals said there had been a long-standing dispute between the families over ownership of a piece of land.

In the morning, members of both families became involved in an argument and at one point, cousins ​​Yousuf and Ahsan beat Arshab with sticks, seriously injuring him.

Locals rushed him to the Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
