Arrests made as cannabis crop continues to burn in Nottinghamshire garden

Two men have been arrested after a tip-off led to police finding the remains of a cannabis plantation being burned in a backyard.

Nottinghamshire Police said response officers immediately noticed a strong smell of cannabis when they opened the front door of a house in Noel Street, Kimberley, Nottinghamshire, on Monday morning.

Cultivated cannabis plants and growing equipment were found at the property, police said, with suspicions that the electricity supply had been illegally bypassed.

Two men aged 25 and 31 have been arrested on suspicion of cannabis production.
