Man arrested for posing as a hotel employee and assaulting guest

A 29-year-old boy was arrested this morning, accused of being the perpetrator of an attack on a guest at a well-known city hotel after trying to deceive him by posing as an employee. The man was intercepted by state police officers from the Tivoli-Guidonia district as he tried to run away, carrying a television he had just stolen from a vacant room. The incident started around 7am when a call came to Nue 112 from a guest who was alarmed by the attack on his room. According to the reconstruction, the twenty-nine-year-old repeatedly knocked on the door, posing as a hotel employee with the urgency to report an alleged danger: the presence of robbers in the facility. Reassured by the apparent urgency, the guest opened the door, only to be met with a sudden attack. A few minutes later, the man was spotted by officers on the street, still holding the stolen television. Even when confronted, he verbally attacked them, falsely claiming to be a well-known TV presenter. During the check, the 29-year-old had with him a television that, as revealed by the subsequent inspection by forensic police officers, he had stolen from another vacant room. After being taken to the police station for investigation, the man was arrested. The Duty Prosecutor at the Tivoli Court ordered the transfer of the arrested person to Rebibbia Prison in Rome for subsequent validation and application of precautionary measures.
