Man, 4-year-old boy die after emergency call at Lake Corpus Christi State Park

A 29-year-old man and a 4-year-old boy are dead after a 911 call at Catfish Cove in Lake Corpus Christi State Park.

Texas State Park Police and Texas Game Wardens responded to a call of five swimmers in distress on Nov. 3, according to Texas Parks & Wildlife Department officials.

Three of the swimmers were rescued from the water, but the 29-year-old and the 4-year-old were not found.

San Patricio County Sheriff Oscar Rivera said on Facebook that the 29-year-old’s body was found on Nov. 4.

Another message from Rivera states that the four-year-old’s body was found Monday, November 5.

At this time it is unknown what prompted the group’s emergency call at the lake.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victims at this difficult time,” a TPWD official said.
