Victim of deadly assault and robbery identified as Colorado Springs police ask for help finding suspects

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A 60-year-old man has been identified as the victim of a brutal attack over the summer.

The suspects involved in the deadly attack are still on the run months later.

On the evening of July 31, police say Dwayne Easterling was severely beaten and robbed in the area of East Fountain Boulevard and Murray Boulevard. He was left seriously injured and rushed to hospital by officers who arrived on the scene. He died from his injuries two weeks later.

Colorado Springs police released Easterling’s identity on Wednesday and continue to appeal to the public for help in finding the attackers. Anyone with information that could help in this case or who witnessed the attack is urged to call CSPD at 719-444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 719-634-STOP. Crime Stoppers tips can be given anonymously.
