First warning |Continuous showers tonight; trend drier Friday

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Scattered showers linger tonight across parts of North Georgia, mainly along and south of the I-85 corridor. Expect showers to gradually taper off overnight as temperatures drop into the mid to upper 60s across the area.

A Flood Watch is in effect for Jasper, Putnam, Morgan and Greene counties. Heavy rains could cause creek levels to rise and roadways to flood in this area.

The First Alert Forecast showed a slightly drier trend on Thursday and Friday. As we head into the weekend, we will see tropical moisture return to the area.

You can be warned if rain is approaching your plans by downloading the file First warning weather app.
