Man found dead, woman arrested after police called to reports of fight in house: JSO

A man was found dead early Thursday morning in a home on West 12th Street in the city’s Durkeeville section, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

Police said officers were called to the home just west of Myrtle Avenue at 3 a.m. on reports of “an altercation with injuries.”

Officers found the man dead in the home and a woman was arrested at the scene. Investigators said she was the person who called 911.

Police cannot say whether the man was injured or how he may have died.

Because the circumstances of his death and the relationships of those involved are not yet known, the case is awaiting classification, JSO said
