  7. Reset your PC or perform a clean install of Windows

1) Perform a hard reset

First, hard reset your PC or laptop and see if this helps. The following steps will guide you in this regard:

  3. Remove the battery from your laptop.

3) Roll back the audio driver

If your computer has kept the previous version of the audio driver, you can install it using the Roll Back Driver option. The following steps will guide you in this regard:

  1. Open the Device management.

4) Reinstall the audio driver

5) Reset BIOS

6) Perform a system restore (for HP computers)

If you are an HP computer user, you can run System Restore to resolve this issue. To do this, you have to boot into the Windows Recovery Environment. The easiest way to open WinRE is to restart your computer by holding down the Shift key.

Before starting the Windows Recovery Environment, back up all your data to an external storage device as this step will erase all data on your hard drive. Now in Windows select Recovery Environment Troubleshooting > Recovery Management.

7) Reset your PC or perform a clean install of Windows

The last resort is to reset your PC without deleting data. While resetting your PC, select the option that says Save my files to prevent your files from being deleted during the factory reset process. However, for security reasons, please backup your data before proceeding.
