A collision kills a 57-year-old woman in Orange County

Orange Province — DPS is investigating a crash that left a woman dead in Orange County.

Troopers and officers rushed to the collision at about 8 a.m. this morning on Highway 62, just south of Tulane, according to information from DPS Sgt. Shana Clark provided to KFDM/Fox 4 News.

The accident involved three vehicles, including a pickup truck and a car.

Justice of the Peace Chad Jenkins tells KFDM the victim is a 57-year-old woman from Orange who was driving the car.

She died on the spot. He has ordered an autopsy.

The crash closed Highway 62 for about an hour and a half. One lane reopened around 9:30 am.
