CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) – A trial date has been set for the man accused of killing a teenage girl in the parking lot of the CVS in Cape Girardeau earlier this year.

Tre’marion Jones’ jury trial is set to begin on January 7, 2025, according to online court records.

Jones is charged with first-degree murder and other charges after police say he fatally shot 17-year-old KeMari Childress in February.

Jones has denied pleading guilty to the charges against him.

The court scheduled the trial Monday during Jones’ most recent court appearance. The trial is expected to last four days.
