State Police have closed I-90 in both directions in Chicopee due to a brush fire

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – I-90 is closed in both directions in Chicopee due to a wildfire.

This is according to state police in Westfield.

Western Mass News has learned that eastbound traffic is being diverted to Exit 49.

Westbound traffic will be diverted via exit 51.

The brush fire is located near Rt. 33 in Chicopee near Memorial Drive.

Chicopee firefighters were called to the scene, along with mutual aid.

State police tell us they received the call Thursday around 1:30 p.m.

There have been no injuries at this time.

No word yet on the extent of this brush fire.

State Police and MassDOT are also on scene.
