Dover man arrested on drug and human trafficking charges

DOVER, Del. – A Dover man is behind bars on numerous charges stemming from a drug and prostitution investigation.

Over the course of several months, the Dover Police Department’s Drugs, Vice, and Organized Crime Unit, the Delaware State Police Human Trafficking Unit, and the FBI Delaware Violent Crimes and Safe Streets Task Force collaborated on this investigation, which led to the execution on Wednesday, a search warrant was issued at a home on the South State Street residential block. The target of the investigation, 62-year-old James Paz, was taken into custody.

A search of the home led to the discovery of paraphernalia related to the packaging/use of heroin and crack cocaine and 13 bags of heroin.

Dover police charged Paz with maintaining a drug possession, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia, and issued a $3,400 unsecured bond. Delaware State Police have charged Paz with two counts of human trafficking: sexual servitude and two counts of human trafficking. He was granted $80,000 bail on these charges.

Paz is being held in SCI.
