Shreveport woman killed in collision in Coushatta

COUSHATTA, La. (KSLA) – A Shreveport woman was killed when she was run over by a car in Coushatta, Louisiana State Police say.

It happened Monday, Nov. 4 around 8:45 p.m. on Meeks Road near Jenkins Lease Road in Red River Parish, LSP says. As a result, Natalya Leggio, 52, of Shreveport, was killed.

LSP officials say Leggio was sitting on the edge of Meeks Road when she was struck by a car. She died on the spot. Police say the driver did not stop or call police to report what had happened.

The vehicle involved has been identified as a 2013 GMC SUV. Police say William J. Williams, 43, of Coushatta, was driving when he struck Leggio. On November 5, he was arrested and booked into the Red River Parish Detention Center on charges of hit and run.
