San Rafael police arrest suspect after fight in park

San Rafael police have arrested a suspect who allegedly punched an officer in Albert Park.

The incident happened Wednesday morning after police officers spotted the man with drug paraphernalia and open alcohol containers. said Justin Graham. The man resisted arrest and punched an officer, Graham said.

As the suspect reportedly struggled with police, officers used a Taser, pepper spray and a baton against him in an unsuccessful attempt to subdue him. The suspect responded to the police after an officer shot him in the abdomen with a foam projectile.

Dixon McKinley, 35, of San Francisco, was booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of assault on police, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful paraphernalia and carrying an open container of alcohol in public. His bond was set at $15,000.
