Nazim Kacem searched for a suspected accident in Oxford

Police are searching for a man investigating a suspected collision that seriously injured a 17-year-old cyclist.

Thames Valley Police said a motorcyclist failed to stop and left the scene after the collision on Banbury Road in Oxford shortly after 08:15 GMT on Monday.

The cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Police said they wanted to trace Nazim Kacem, 29, from Oxford, as he may have ‘vital information’ relating to the incident.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the investigation so far.

A 14-year-old boy was released without charge, while three others, a 50-year-old man, 41-year-old man and 37-year-old woman, all from Oxford, were released while investigations continued.

Det Insp Justin Thomas said: “I am appealing to anyone who knows the whereabouts of Nazim Kacem to contact Thames Valley Police.

“We want to speak to him urgently in connection with this collision.

“I would also like to directly appeal to Nazim to contact us if you see this appeal.

Mr Kacem is from Oxford but is also known to regularly visit Bristol and Crouch Hill in London.
