MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) – A Miami man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly stabbing his brother in the neck for “talking about dinner” while he was cooking.

The brother left for a bedroom as Rodriguez followed him, slashing his arm and face, the report said.

When police and firefighters arrived at the home, the brother covered his stab wounds with clothing, according to officials. He was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

Rodriguez fled the home and was found hiding in a nearby tree after police set up a perimeter. He was subsequently taken into custody.

When detectives interviewed Rodriguez, he told them he became irritated when his brother “talked about the food.” He added that he thought his brother went for the knife because of the “attitude” his brother had.

Rodriguez was booked into jail Thursday morning on charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to Miami-Dade jail records.
