Two women are seriously injured after their vehicle crashes into a tree in Butler County

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KFVS) – Two women are seriously injured after their vehicle hits a tree in Butler County, Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report, the crash occurred on Friday, November 7 at 7:00 PM. The vehicle was traveling southbound on County Road 523, four miles north of Poplar Bluff.

The crash occurred when a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver, a 19-year-old Poplar Bluff woman, was transported by Survival Flight to St. Bernards in Jonesboro, Arkansas to be treated for serious injuries.

The passenger, a 20-year-old Doniphan woman, was transported by Air EVAC to St. Louis University to be treated for serious injuries.

According to the Highway Patrol, both occupants were wearing safety devices at the time of the crash.
