Tim Westwood could face charges over assault charges

Tim Westwood is one of the most notable British radio DJs. By more and more whispers the BBC radio legacy of the media personality questioned. While Westwood has used his popularity to raise the profile of several musicians including SkeptaSeveral women claim that he also used his celebrity to pressure them with ‘unwanted sexual behavior’ between 1992 and 2017.

Now it appears the British police have intervened BBCthe investigation has escalated. The outlet claims officers have “referred the matter to the Crown Prosecution Service” (CPS).

Now that the ball is in CPS’s hands, insiders believe Westwood could face criminal charges if the government agency finds appropriate grounds.

A statement obtained from Andy Furphy, lead investigator Det. Supt, just increase those flames. “An evidence file has now been submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and our team continues to investigate, with the support of prosecutors,” Furphy said. “We will investigate sex crimes thoroughly and appropriately as part of our commitment to making London safer for women and girls.”

While no decision has been made today (Nov. 9), it’s only a matter of time before the agency makes the final decision.

Since news of the allegations were shared, Westwood has maintained his innocence and vehemently denied the accusations.

“Tim Westwood strongly denies all allegations of inappropriate conduct,” a legal representative for Westwood said. “In a career spanning forty years, no official or unofficial complaints have ever been made against him. Tim Westwood strongly rejects all allegations of misconduct.”
