Emmerdale spoilers - Moira and Cain get a special episode

Emmerdale has confirmed plans for a special episode next week as Moira Dingle undergoes surgery.

The ITV soap is currently airing a major storyline for Moira, who was diagnosed with a non-cancerous brain tumor two months ago.

Moira has now decided to undergo surgery to remove the tumor. She turned down a first date from the hospital when it collided Funeral of Zak Dingle and she felt she should support her husband Cain.

As the date of Moira’s rescheduled surgery approaches next week, she continues to prepare for the worst possible outcome.

Struggling with the thought that he could lose Moira forever, Cain hides in the garage, where he seems tormented as he ponders the bleak possibilities of what the future might bring.

EmmerdaleThe Moira special episode follows Moira’s brain surgery and how Cain copes with the day as he anxiously awaits news.

In a change from the show’s usual storytelling style, Cain’s story takes place in reverse chronological order.

Emmerdale producer Sophie Roper commented: “This conceptual episode is in two halves as we explore Cain and Moira’s separate journeys on the day of Moira’s brain surgery.

“We first dramatize Moira’s experience as she undergoes the surgery before she breaks soap mold, then plays the second half of the episode in reverse to reveal Cain’s journey while Moira was at the cinema.”

Natalie J Robb, who plays Moira, also shared it Digital spy and other press: “Moira and Cain are both terrified. Cain is very afraid of losing her, and when Cain is out of control, Cain does things that are out of his control – he has no control over the situation. afraid because it’s something big.

“Moira is absolutely terrified, especially as she could lose him but will never see her children again and she has clearly already suffered loss. The last thing she wants is to abandon her children, so it’s really about her children and losing them comes at all costs. She just feels very vulnerable.

“Moira is a bit of an ox – she has a strong character. She is afraid that suddenly she will almost lose her identity and slowly but surely lose little pieces of her. There is the fear that after the operation she will be proven right? “

She added: “Cain internalizes everything and that’s the problem. Moira knows that about him – that’s why she’s always checking on him and worrying. She will always know if something is wrong.

“On the other hand, Moira is trying to get it all out – because this could be the last time she gets to say it to Cain, so it’s important that she speaks things out.

“She’s always been more open-hearted and so they often work because they’re yin and yang. She’s a great communicator and he’s not. But when they communicate, it just works. It’s like a lot of marriages.”

Emmerdale the Moira and Cain special episode airs on Wednesday, November 20 on ITV1 and ITVX.
