Police searching for inmate who escaped from the East Carroll Detention Center

MONROE, La. (KNOE) – Morgan City Police are searching for an inmate who escaped from the Riverbend Detention Center on Monday, November 11.

Officials say 36-year-old Wayne Michael Escort is a black man and weighs approximately 185 pounds. and is 5′6.

According to officials, Escort escaped from the detention center in East Carroll Parish in the early morning hours.

Escort is originally from Morgan City.

Officials say Escort is considered armed and dangerous because of his criminal history.
