MPD officer among four injured in crash

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Four people, including a mobile police officer, were taken to local hospitals this morning following a traffic accident involving an officer.

The accident happened on Government Boulevard.

Around 11:35 a.m., the officer responded to a nearby incident in which a pursuit of a criminal subject who led officers on a chase had ended a short time earlier, Mobile Police said. While en route, the officer’s patrol vehicle was involved in a crash with two other vehicles in the 4100 block of Government Boulevard.

Police say the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
