Victor Osimhen has turned his attention to the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and has sounded a warning to Nigeria, Benin and Rwanda’s next opponents.

The 25-year-old forward has been in remarkable form for Galatasaray, scoring four goals in his last two games for the Turkish club before the international break.

According to ESPNOsimhen is back in the Nigeria squad after missing last month’s qualifiers against Libya due to injury and is expected to lead the Super Eagles’ attack.

The return of the Galatasaray striker is good news for the club Nigeria coaching staff led by Augustine Eguavoen, who has struggled to get the best out of other strikers such as Victor Boniface in Osimhen’s absence.

The Super Eagles will compete against each other Benin at the Stade Felix-Houphouet-Boigny on November 14, before traveling to Uyo four days later for the final qualifier against Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Meanwhile, Osimhen is looking forward to Nigeria’s AFCON double-header against Benin and Rwanda after revealing he is confident of returning to the national team. PUNCH reports.

“We will go to the national team with this confidence. When we come back, we have the strength to win every game.”

Nigeria, which leads Group D with 10 points from four gamesneeds just one point to secure qualification for the 2025 AFCON, and with Osimhen in the squad, Nigerians are confident of getting that ticket.

Benin suffers a setback in the run-up to the match against Nigeria

Previously, Legit.ng reported that an essential player in Benin’s attacking setup recently suffered a new injury, further complicating their preparations for the match against Nigeria.
