Police have named the 45-year-old man who died as Vadims Zmicerevskis

Police have named a man found dead in the street and charged a suspect with murder.

Vadims Zmicerevskis, 45, was the victim of the violent incident involving three people at the junction of Green Lane and St Thomas’ Road in Spalding on Monday.

Lincolnshire Police confirmed that Viktors Zeglovs, 33, of no fixed abode, would appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court today.

A 47-year-old man arrested on suspicion of fraud has been released on bail pending further investigations.

Police said the three men were believed to know each other and that police were not looking for anyone else in connection with the killing.

Mr Zmicerevskis’ family are being supported by specially trained officers and have requested privacy at this time.

People have been asked to speak to police if they have any information about the circumstances of the incident, or have CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage of the area.

It is believed the men had been at Aldi shortly before the altercation took place, between 1.30pm and 2.15pm GMT.

Inspector Matt Dickinson said: ‘We know how worrying and frightening it will be for people to hear about this investigation and we are making it a priority to find out what happened.

“Members of the community policing team arrived on the scene within minutes of receiving the call to the police control room.

“We began CPR but unfortunately Mr Zmicerevskis was pronounced dead shortly after emergency services arrived.”
