The 2003 action-adventure game Disney’s Pilget’s Big Game, based on the film Piglet’s Big Game, is quickly selling out online after the internet discovered that it is essentially a horror game inspired by Resident Evil and Silent Hill.

Piglet’s Big Game didn’t make as big an impact as its namesake might suggest when it launched 21 years ago, receiving mixed reviews and falling into obscurity in the decades that followed. However, gameplay clips are currently going viral due to a remarkable similarity in tone and style to Silent Hill in particular. If you watch the clips, it’s very clear that the people from Doki Denki Studio were heavy and inexplicably inspired by Konami’s opus in designing Piglet’s Big Game, which I’ll remind you, it’s a Winnie the Pooh game starring a pink pig.

On the surface, the similarities in the fixed camera and sound design are easy to see and hear, but as an admitted new fan, as we delve deeper into Piglet’s Big Game, the story about the main character overcoming his fears in a horrific, dream-like world. has some obvious parallels with Silent Hill, and this scene taking place in a library definitely has Resident Evil energy. Players with direct experience with the game are calling it “baby’s first Resident Evil and/or Silent Hill.”

To really drive home the similarity, some are rightly wondering if the Silent Hill 2 remake will directly sample a track from Piglet’s Big Game, in an apparent acknowledgment of the similarities.

However, others are desperate to buy and play the game themselves, which is why the PS2 version of the game is out of date virtually sold out on American eBay at the time of writing. You can get other versions of the game, but their prices are rising quickly. A quick search on eBay turns up two GameCube versions; one that asks $52.57 with $30 shipping and another asks for an eye-watering $300. Unless you’re really desperate to play Piglet’s Big Game on console, I’d recommend taking a look at PC copies, especially as the game is unlikely to maintain its sky-high value for long.

Otherwise, you might just want to watch the clips above and get the Silent Hill 2 remake instead of.
