Car stolen from Moville involved in accident

Gardaí are investigating the theft of a car from Moville which was later involved in a road traffic accident.

The car, a silver Renault Fluence with a partial registration of ’11 DL 17′, was taken from Crawford Square at around 11pm on Wednesday.

The stolen car was driven towards Gleneely where it was involved in a minor collision.

It immediately left the scene and traveled towards Carndonagh.

The stolen car, which was damaged at the front, was subsequently found in the Ballynally, Moville area at 9.30pm on Saturday, November 9.

Gardai are appealing for any sightings of the car around this time.

A spokesperson said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have observed suspicious activity in or around Moville Town on the night of Wednesday 6 November to contact us. If anyone was in the area of ​​Crawford Square or in the town of Moville itself with a dashcam between 10pm and 11.15pm, we are asking them to contact us.

“We are particularly interested in sightings or dashcam footage of two men believed to have been in the area of ​​Quay Street, Moville at approximately 12pm on November 6. 10:50 p.m. One wore a gray hoodie and the other a black hoodie.

“If anyone traveled with a dashcam in any of the areas listed (Moville – Gleneely-Carndonagh) between 11pm and midnight on Wednesday 6 November, we would also ask them to contact us. If anyone can assist us with relevant information, we ask that they contact Gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540.”
