Delta passengers left terrified after the plane suffered serious damage in mid-air

Delta passengers said they were terrified after landing at Denver International Airport and discovering their plane’s nose cone was severely damaged.

the flight from Detroit on Monday afternoon, and both passengers and the airline say they are baffled as to what caused a massive dent in the front of the plane.

Passenger Lynn Bennett shared a photo she took after exiting the plane, telling KDVR she was “in shock” when she first saw the damage.

A Delta spokesperson said the airline “has not received a report of the aircraft collision” and is investigating the mysterious incident.

The plane’s pilot did not perform an emergency landing to arrive in Denver, and it is unclear whether the pilots knew their plane was damaged before landing.

Bennett said the dent was not there when the plane took off, and although she felt “slight turbulence” during the flight, it was “nothing major.”

Upon landing, she added, “We looked at it and that’s what we saw and no one has been able to figure out what it is.”

Delta said in a statement that the plane suffered a “mechanical issue to the nose of the aircraft,” but did not provide further details on the cause.

“The flight landed safely and taxied to the gate without incident,” a spokesperson added, saying crews were able to repair the plane overnight.

On the plane’s next scheduled flight, Monday evening to Salt Lake City, the airline recruited an Airbus and apologized to passengers for a minor delay.

A Delta spokesperson said the airline “has not received any reports of the aircraft being struck” and that there have been no reports of injuries among the 148 passengers and six crew members.

Delata said there were 148 passengers and six crew members on board and received no reports of injuries.

As an aviation enthusiast, Bennett said she was stunned by the incident.

“I think that’s the biggest, exciting part of all this: ‘What happened?’ she told KDVR.

‘What is it? Why doesn’t Delta comment on that? Just mention mechanical problems and they will fix it. But why is it a mechanical problem? What happened?’
