“When I entered the office at 4:05 p.m., there was no problem,” said Uma, who works in a building on Sheikh Zayed Road. “At 4:20 p.m. my friend called and asked if I could see why there was so much smoke. When I looked outside, I saw that the vehicle was on fire. Yellow flames were shooting out and the whole area was covered in thick. I saw two fire trucks and an ambulance and police cars surrounded it. There were at least six firefighters on the scene who closed three lanes and allowed cars to use only two lanes.

According to other eyewitnesses, the fire was under control and completely extinguished within minutes. The Sheikh Zayed Road towards Abu Dhabi remained partially closed while police cleared the accident.
