The annual Wayne County Lightfest returns to Hines Park starting in November.

The annual holiday event includes nearly 50 animated holiday displays with more than 100,000 lights. Here is the information for the 2024 event:

When is Wayne County Lightfest 2024?

The Lightfest is open from Wednesday to Sunday from Thursday, November 21, 2024 to December 24, 2024 from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM.

With the exception of December 23 and December 24, 2024, the Lightfest is closed on Monday and Tuesday evenings.

Due to the overwhelming response to the Lightfest, wait times may be longer than normal on weekends.

How much does it cost?

  • Cars $5 cash

  • Commercial vehicle/RV/limo $20 cash

  • Minivan (20 passengers) $25 cash

  • Bus (40 passengers +) $50 cash

Vehicle fees are paid in cash on site, but if you would like to purchase tickets in advance for employees, friends or family, you can purchase tickets at the Nankin Mills Interpretive Center in Westland Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM: From November 22 at 00:00 at the walk-in counter. The price for tickets is $5 per car. The address of the Nankin Mills Interpretive Center is 33175 Ann Arbor Trail in Westland.

Prepaid tickets may be purchased with cash, check or Visa/Mastercard or over the phone with a credit card by calling (734) 261-1990. The tickets will then be emailed to you. Please note that tickets purchased in person at the Lightfest are the same price, but must be paid for in cash only.

In addition, bus groups can pre-register their buses and pay in advance by check, Visa/Mastercard or cash. Call (734) 261-1990 for more information, but pre-registration for the bus must be done at least one week in advance.

Where do vehicles enter the event?

The address for the Lightfest is 7651 N. Merriman Road, 2.5 miles south of I-96. Please note that access to the Lightfest is only available north of the Merriman Road Bridge due to construction on the bridge.

Be prepared for longer entry times!

Wayne County will offer radio alerts to keep visitors informed of important show information. By tuning into AM 1640 within three to five miles of Lightfest’s entrance, attendees can receive regular updates on wait times, traffic flows, special events and event costs.

During Lightfest, Hines Drive will be closed to traffic from 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM due to construction and construction from Ann Arbor Trail to Outer Drive.
