Judges over cancellation of union dues grapple with state law

Judges of the Ninth Circuit grappled with a constitutional challenge during oral arguments Wednesday, alleging that public sector unions and Washington state violated workers’ rights by refusing to cancel membership dues.

The Freedom Foundationa conservative free-market advocacy group, is asking the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to revive the case against three local Teamsters and the governor of Washington. Jay Inslee (D).
