Matka

Matka

Telugu actor Varun Tej’s pan-Indian film, Matkareleased in theaters on November 14. Despite clashing with Suriya’s highly anticipated Kanguva, Matka opened to a decent reception from critics and audiences alike. After watching the film, fans shared their reviews on social media, praising the background score, dialogues and Varun Tej’s ‘performance of a lifetime’.

Varun Tej was last seen Gandeevadhari Arjuna, released in August this year. Directed by Karuna Kumar, Matka stars Tej in a never-seen-before avatar. Besides him, Nora Fatehi and Meenakshi Chaudhary also play key roles.

One of the viewers shared a detailed review of Matka on his X handle and praised the first half of the film and Varun Tej for being ‘mesmerizing with his choice of script’. Moreover, he wrote, “The second half is more about drama. The revenge style is very good. Varun played his whole life in this film. Enjoyed it very much (sic).”

Another fan wrote, “Roots star Varun Tej’s Matka was a blockbuster all around. Looks like it will break Pushpa 2 records (sic).”

A third fan wrote, “Varun Tej always comes up with unique topics. This time Matka. As always, Varun Tej’s performance is the highlight of the film. GV Prakash’s background score is one of the key assets of the film. Dialogues, DOP -work, production design, vintage setup are good. The film is well shot.

Another review read: “Varun Tej good, screenplay and drama not working. Background music normal. Songs are worst (sic).”

Matka was bankrolled by Vyra Entertainments and SRT Entertainments and released in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam. This is Varun’s third film release of the year after Gandeevadhari Arjuna and Operation Valentine.
