Individuals found dead in truck recovered from St. Joe River in Elkhart identified

ELKHART, Ind. – The bodies of two men were recovered from the St. Joe River on Nov. 13 in a black 2018 Ram pickup.

The Sheriff’s Office said 30-year-old Theo Bean and 39-year-old Tireno Washington were last seen Sunday morning.

The department posted their missing person notice on Facebook just hours before their bodies were discovered.

The Elkhart Sheriff’s Department stated that for unknown reasons, the vehicle somehow crossed lanes, went through a patch of trees, went down an embankment and ended up in the St. Joe River.

When the truck was pulled from the river, the front end was a mangled mess, with airbags hanging out of the window and a completely shattered windshield.
