Police are currently searching for five suspects after Food Network star and former NFL player Tobias Dorzon was shot during an attempted robbery in Maryland.

Dorzon was hospitalized along with another person after they were shot while returning home from dinner in Hyattsville, Maryland on November 5.

“We now have descriptions of four of the five suspects in the November 5 shooting that left two injured,” said a statement shared on Facebook by Hyattsville Police.

The statement also added that the double shooting occurred in the 2500 block of Kirkwood Place and that the other person shot was a woman.

Fortunately, police said none of the injuries were life-threatening.

According to a report from WBAL TVSurveillance footage of the incident captured an unidentified person “crawling behind a car to hide as the attackers approached another person lying on the ground. Rapid gunshots and a woman’s screams are also heard.”

NBC4 Washington reported that the suspects robbed Dorzon “after he had already fallen to the ground.”

Although the victims were not immediately identified, Prince George’s County Council member Wanika Fisher confirmed in a statement statement on November 6 that Dorzon was among the victims.

“I am disheartened and saddened by the news that Prince George’s County restaurant owner Tobias Dorzon was one of two people shot during an attempted robbery in my county on Tuesday evening. Chef Dorzon owns two great restaurants in Hyattsville, is a valued member of the District 2 community and my dear friend,” said Fisher. “Such a terrible act could not have happened to a better person. I extend my deepest condolences to him and the second victim, as well as to their families and friends, and I wish them both a speedy recovery.”

No arrests have been made so far as police work to locate a white SUV with a sunroof and an unknown license plate number. Authorities have released descriptions for four of the five suspects and “continue to work on a description of the fifth suspect.”

After the incident, Dorzon took to social media to thank everyone who was concerned about him.

“I’m still here, thanks everyone for the prayers, see you soon,” the caption continues Instagram.

Dorzon also shared a screenshot of a message he shared on Threads that read: “My God is the greatest and if you know me, you know my favorite saying. I am God’s favorite child 1 of 1.”
