Theft of military equipment leads to the arrest of Indiana man: the sheriff’s office

BROOKVILLE, Ind. (WXIX) – An Indiana man is accused of stealing military equipment, leading to his arrest.

Franklin County, Indiana, sheriff’s deputies say they began investigating this in January.

At the time, the sheriff’s office said they received reports that someone had broken into a home along Pipe Creek Road in Brookville and stolen approximately $8,000 worth of items.

Investigators did not provide details about what was taken, but they did say most of it was military equipment.

Officers say they obtained physical evidence at the scene, which ultimately led to a suspect, 45-year-old Nickalus Pennington, of Brookville.

Pennington was arrested Sunday for burglary and resisting arrest, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
