AHSAA considers new Super 7 championship venues

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (W.S.F.A) – Na removing Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium and Auburn’s Jordan-Hare Stadium from the championship rotationthe Alabama High School Athletic Association is now exploring stadiums for new Super 7 locations.

The AHSAA said the change became necessary due to unavoidable conflicts with the expanded College Football Playoff schedule.

Due to the growing college football playoff format, some stadiums have been removed from the Super 7 rotation.

On Friday, the AHSAA will conduct a Super 7 site visit in Montgomery to consider Alabama State University as a potential host for future championships.

They will also visit South Alabama on Monday to consider Hancock Whitney Stadium.

It is unclear when the AHSAA will make a final decision on the updated rotation schedule.
