Detroit Lions fans forced Texans to use silent counts at home

During the latest edition of “Inside the NFL,” hosted by Bill Belichick, Ryan Clark and Chris Long, the former New England Patriots coach pointed out film which showed the Texans using a silent count.

Teams playing at home usually never have to use a silent count, because home fans know when to be quieter and louder when the opponent commits a foul on the field.

“Coach, it’s weird that they’re standing still at home. That used to be a Green Bay, Philadelphia Eagle fan that they would take over your stadium,” he said. Long. “But now the Lions are fanning out in Houston.”

Throughout the season, Lions fans have made frequent trips to road stadiums to support the 8-1 NFC North leaders.

Then Campbell also pointed out the impact of the Lions fans, who actually caused the Texans to receive a false start penalty due to the noise created.

“We’re in November and the teams that can gain momentum going uphill are the ones that are dangerous, and I feel like that’s where we are right now. And I just – again, man, our fans are incredible the way they’re traveling right now,” Campbell said. “And I heard them in the fourth. I try not to pay attention to that, but it was noticeable with their offense out there, and the false start was critical and forced. So I can’t say enough good things about our guys , our fans.”
