Three suspects involved in theft have been arrested by police in Subang Jaya

KUALA LUMPUR: Police on Friday arrested three local men believed to be involved in the theft of a gold chain worth RM30,000 in Subang Jaya on Oct 12.

Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the victim, a local man, was ambushed by one of the suspects.

He said the three suspects, in their 30s, were arrested during three separate raids in Petaling Jaya and Subang Jaya on Friday (Nov 15).

“The suspects work as document forwarders, gold buyers and gold store employees respectively. Two suspects have criminal records and narcotics histories, while the other suspect has no prior criminal record.

“During the arrests, several jewelery and receipts for the purchase of gold were also seized, as well as a Yamaha 135LC motorcycle,” he said in a statement here on Saturday (Nov 16).

ACP Wan Azlan said one of the suspects will be held for three days from Saturday, while two other suspects will be held for only one day.

“Following the arrest, police believe they have solved at least eight cases of theft in Subang Jaya and investigations will be conducted to find out if any other suspects are involved in the district,” he said.
