Desmond Howard calls the most dangerous team in SEC

Desmond Howard and the College GameDay The crew is in Athens for the highly anticipated matchup between Tennessee and Georgia. The crew discussed that matchup, as well as each SEC team’s chances of winning the conference.

While Texas and Alabama have the best chances to appear in the SEC Championship Game, Howard thinks another SEC team is the most dangerous right now.

“I think the most dangerous team in the SEC right now is Ole Miss,” Howard said. “I think Ole Miss is the most dangerous for one reason. If you defeat the dragon, it will do a lot for the confidence of your team.”

Of course, Howard is referring to Ole Miss’ win over Georgia in Week 11.

The Rebels defeated the Bulldogs 28-10 last weekend in a loss that could have College Football Playoff implications. It was a dominant performance from the Rebels who had lost nine of their last 10 meetings with the Bulldogs. It was the best defensive performance of the season for the Rebels, who allowed just 245 total yards to the Bulldogs.

“They don’t anymore think they can beat Georgia or any of the big dogs,” Howard explained. “She know they can do it. Because of their confidence they are one of the most dangerous teams.”

In Week 12, the Rebels have a bye before closing out the regular season with games against Florida and Mississippi State. The team has an overall record of 8-2 and a 4-2 mark in SEC play.
