SEC Nation announces location for Week 13

SEC nation visits quite a few historic sites on its tour each year, because SEC football is so steeped in tradition that Saturday morning’s pregame show will inevitably hit traditional hotspot after traditional hotspot.

Except for next Saturday, for the Week 13 show, it will travel to a tradition-rich college football venue for the very first time. And that’s because this is Texas’ first-ever season in the SEC, so the pregame party moves to Austin for the main showdown between the No. 3 Longhorns and an upset Kentucky.

Sure, the 9-1 Longhorns will be a heavy favorite against the 4-6 Wildcats, but this matchup starts as one team with everything to lose (Texas) against another team with nothing to lose (Kentucky), so there’s that. ESPN’s FPI matchup predictor is, well, predictable, giving the Longhorns a whopping 94.7% chance of escaping any upsets, reaching 10-1 and closing in on a College Football Playoff berth.

But if you want to know how annoying Kentucky can be, just ask Lane Kiffin. All the way back in Week 5, the Wildcats went to Oxford and then beat No. 6 Ole Miss, 20-17, so you’d think Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian would remind his players this week about that game and how the Longhorns need to be on their toes now that there so much is at stake.
