“It’s so hard to think about the darkest times in your life,” he said via an Instagram video without naming Cassie, 38. “Sometimes you have to do that. I was lost. I mean, I’ve hit rock bottom, but I’m not making excuses. My behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.”

“Disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, and I’m disgusted by it now,” he continued. “I went and sought professional help, went to therapy, went to rehab. I had to ask God for His mercy and grace. I’m so sorry, but I’m determined to become a better person. Every day.”

A day before the hearing, Diddy’s attorneys argued that prosecutors used a “doctored version” of the video.

The defense insisted the video did not depict a “freak off” but rather a domestic dispute involving Diddy running down a hotel hallway to retrieve his clothes and cell phone.

“The more complete footage of the incident – ​​as opposed to the government’s sensational CNN cut – contradicts the government’s statements,” the lawyer said. Alexandra Shapiro wrote in court documents obtained by ABC News. “The video the government submitted to the Court does not contain footage that supports the defense’s account, alters the sequence of events in material respects, and does not accurately portray the events.”

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has responded to the “disturbing” video of Sean “Diddy” Combs allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie. “We are aware of the video circulating online of Sean Combs allegedly assaulting a young woman in Los Angeles. We find the images extremely disturbing and difficult to watch,” the Public Prosecution Service said (…)

In court on Friday, the defense also claimed that Diddy and Cassie’s relationship included “mutually deplorable behavior that goes both ways,” adding, “This was a toxic, loving relationship that lasted 11 years.”

In November 2023, Cassie settled a lawsuit who accused Diddy of sexual assault and abuse. At the time, Diddy’s lawyer, Ben Brafmansaid the settlement does not indicate Diddy is guilty.

This week, Diddy’s attorneys plan to continue their efforts to get their client released $50 million bail as he awaits trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges. (Diddy has denied all allegations.)
